Abstract:
The scope covers all types of materials - polymers, metals and alloys, ceramics, composites - at all the stages of their lifecycle:
  • Elaboration: e.g. granulation of polymers, lubrication of continuous casting
  • Forming:  metals: hot and cold rolling, hot and cold forging and extrusion, stamping and deep drawing, spinning, blanking, incremental forming, wire drawing;  polymers: extrusion, injection molding; P/M and ceramic compaction
  • Cutting processes and cutting tool technology: machining, milling, drilling, tapping
  • Finishing: grinding and fine grinding, CMP, abrasive jet machining, lapping, ultrasonic machining
  • Joining processes (friction welding and friction stir welding, press fitting, roll and press bonding, bolts and fasteners) and disassembly
  • New and innovative manufacturing processes.
