Energy Assessments

Energy costs are typically a major component of overall operating and maintenance (O&M) costs for surface finishing systems. Integrated Technologies, Inc. offers Energy Assessments to help clients – in both existing or new facilities – realize the substantial opportunities for cost savings through good design, process optimization, and management of factors that impact energy usage. Reaping the benefits in cost savings and more effective operations is simply a matter of knowing where to look for these opportunities and correctly calculating the ROI.

Energy is consumed in a range of surface finishing processes, including: process solution heating and cooling, fluid and material handling, rectification, solution agitation and filtration, ventilation and make-up air processing, waste and by-product management systems, and substrate/finish heat treatment and drying. Energy Assessments of these existing processes provide information for estimating the savings/payback opportunity for energy efficiency process improvement.

Best Practice Example – Automatic tank covers integrated with ventilation dampers, which allows ramping down ventilation when covers are closed to minimize surface heat loss and ventilation requirements. Covers are normally open only when loading and unloading process tanks
